Mid-Autumn Festival gifts given to Da Nang children in difficult circumstances

Da Nang People’s Council Vice Chairwoman Cao Thi Huyen Tran, on Wednesday, visited and presented gifts to children being cared for at the Shelter No 3 of the city’s Care Centre for Agent Orange Victims and Disadvantaged Children in Hoa Nhon Commune, Hoa Vang District, in the build up to the Mid-Autumn Festival.

The shelter is nurturing, providing semi-boarding care, and teaching literacy and vocational training to 110 children of Agent Orange victims, with a monthly cost of more than VND200 million raised from generous donors.

On behalf of the city's leaders, Vice Chairwoman Cao Thi Huyen Tran gave gifts to the children of Agent Orange victims, and wished them a happy and warm Mid-Autumn Festival.

She also expressed her hope that staff of the shelter will continue to make great efforts to well fulfill their tasks.

Also on the same day, the municipal Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs coordinated with the Hoa Vang District Authority to organize the ‘The night of the full moon festival’ programme for children with special circumstances and ethnic minority children in the district.

During the programme, the organisers donated gifts of school supplies, worth VND500,000 each, to 310 children with special circumstances, ethnic minority children, orphans, and those affected by Covid-19.

On Wednesday evening, the Son Tra District People's Committee held a Full Moon Festival and gave Mid-Autumn Festival gifts, totalling nearly VND90 million, to 300 poor children. At the same time, the World Vision gave 3,575 Mid-Autumn Festival gifts to children across the district.

Furthermore, around 530 children in difficult circumstances in Hai Chau District had the opportunity to participate in the ‘Night of the Full Moon Festival’ programme and receive gifts, each worth VND300,000.
