Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh hosted a reception on Monday for a delegation of the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction, led by its Vice Chairman Ot Phongsavan.

During his meeting with the city leader, Prof. Dr. Ot Phongsavan highly lauded the traditional friendships between Laos and Viet Nam in general, and between the Lao National Construction Fronts in Salavane and Savannakhet provinces and the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee in Da Nang.

The Lao guest expressed his impression on Da Nang’s fairly developed agricultural and industrial sectors. He, therefore, hoped that the two sides will boost bilateral cooperation and exchange activities in the coming time so that Laos can learn from experience and create strengths in agriculture for its south central provinces.

In reply, Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh informed the Lao guests about his city’s socio-economic and agricultural development in recent years.

He added, in July 2022, the city's leaders visited and worked in the south central provinces of Laos and signed memoranda of cooperation for the 2023-2027 period.

On the basis of the recommendations of the delegation, Mr. Minh asked the municipal Department of Foreign Affairs to provide practical and effective support for southern provinces of Laos. He also asked the local Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to select and guide techniques for growing some vegetables suitable to the soil of Laos.

The city leader urged related research units to visit and seek investment opportunities in the field of agriculture in the south and central provinces of Laos, as well as support Laotian provinces to participate in agricultural fairs and exhibitions in Da Nang and introduce their agricultural goods into markets and supermarkets in Da Nang.
