Hai Chau District, Uiwang City sign educational and economic cooperation agreements

Hai Chau District People's Committee, Da Nang, Viet Nam, on Wednesday, inked Memoranda of Understanding with Uiwang City, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea on boosting bilateral cooperation in education and economy.

The signing ceremony saw the attendance of Ms. Yeom Ji Yeon from the South Korean Consulate General in Da Nang, Mr. Kim Sung Jei, the Mayor of Uiwang City, Mr. Kim Hark Gi, the Chairman of Uiwang City People's Council, representatives of relevant agencies in Uiwang City, Gyeonggi Province, and Chairman of the Hai Chau District People's Committee Le Tu Gia Thanh.

Accordingly, the two sides agreed to cooperate within the competence of each party, on the basis of mutual respect, equality and benefit in accordance with the laws and policies of Viet Nam and South Korea, and international treaties signed between the two countries.

Specifically, in the economic field, the two sides will actively exchange and promote trade and investment promotion information on their websites or mass media to attract investment and boost the economic development.

At the same time, the focus will be on creating favourable conditions for companies operating in Hai Chau District and Uiwang City to participate in investment forums and trade fairs to be held in the two localities.

With regard to the education field, the two sides will jointly organise cultural exchange activities, and facilitate students in the two localities to experience new life, culture and education, and improve their foreign language skills as well.

During the signing ceremony, leaders of the two sides asked relevant units, universities and businesses of Uiwang city and Hai Chau District to actively connect to develop specific cooperation programmes.
