Da Nang eyes better cooperative ties with Canada
During his reception for Canadian Ambassador to Viet Nam Shawn Perry Steil on Thursday, Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh affirmed that Da Nang would coordinate with the Canadian Embassy in Viet Nam to well organise activities in celebrations for the 50th anniversary of Viet Nam - Canada diplomatic relations (1973 - 2023). He also wished the Ambassador to introduce even more Canadian investors to do business in Da Nang in the time ahead.

Vice Chairman Minh expressed his delight at the increasingly fruitful development of the Viet Nam - Canada comprehensive partnership over the past years. In parallel with that, he affirmed that Da Nang has always attached importance to developing cooperative relationships with Canada in many aspects.
The city leader hoped that Ambassador Shawn Perry Steil would continue his efforts to introduce investment opportunities for the two countries’ businesses for the sake of better bilateral cooperative ties, especially in the aspects of information technology, high technology and education.
“In 2023, Viet Nam and Canada will celebrate the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relations, the city would like the Ambassador to introduce related commemorative activities that can be held in Da Nang.
The Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs will be the focal point to coordinate with the Canadian Embassy in organising related activities and events so that this important commemorative event can ensure great success”, said Vice Chairman Minh.
Ambassador Shawn Perry Steil said that many activities will be held in Da Nang on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Viet Nam - Canada diplomatic relations. He promised to recommend Canadian business delegations to seek investment opportunities and partners in Da Nang in the fields of infrastructure, transportation, health services, high technology, and information technology, tourism, investment, trade, agriculture, education and training.
