Da Nang government leader congratulates Vietnamese Teachers' Day

Da Nang People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh on Monday morning visited some educational institutions in the city in the build up to mark the 40th anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20).

Extending his best wishes to teaching staff of the University of Da Nang on their special day, Chairman Chinh highly lauded the university’s outstanding results in professional work, as well as creating and affirming its role of being one of the leading education and training centres in Central Viet Nam.

He expected that the University of Da Nang will continue to make greater efforts and promote its strengths to deserve to be the nation's leading and prestigious training and scientific research centre in the region and the world.

“The city will continue to give maximum attention and support to the University of Da Nang to complete the construction of its Urban Area project in Hoa Quy Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District, and relocate its member universities to the urban area as soon as possible. This will significantly contribute to expanding the scale and improving the quality of training in order to develop the University of Da Nang into a national university in the future" emphasised Mr. Chinh.

During his visit to the Le Quy Don Senior High School for the Gifted, the city leader spoke highly of the school for its outstanding achievements over the past academic years, thereby greatly contributing to the development of the education sector in particular, and the city's socio-economic progress in general.

Mr. Chinh noted the municipal leaders have spent a lot of resources on the local education sector, including the Le Quy Don Senior High School for the Gifted.

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day, Chairman Chinh wished the school’s teaching staff to continue promoting its good tradition, and affirming its role, position and brand name in the coming time.

Also on Monday morning, the University of Education, the University of Da Nang, held a ceremony to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day.

The ceremony offered an opportunity for generations of the school’s cadres, officials, lecturers and students to review the good memories and traditions of the teaching profession, as well as honour standout teachers for their great efforts and contributions in the cause of education and training development.

During the event, 5 lecturers were awarded the title of Ministry-level Emulation Soldier, whilst 2 others received Certificates of Merit in recognition of their great contributions to the cause of education. In addition, 8 new associate professors and new doctorates in 2022 were honoured at the ceremony.
