10th session of Da Nang People's Council for the 2021-2026 term opens

The 10th session of the Da Nang People's Council in its 10th tenure for the 2021-2026 term opened at the municipal People’s Committee Meeting Hall Tuesday morning, December 13.

In his remarks at the opening ceremony, municipal Party Committee Deputy Secretary cum People’s Council Chairman Luong Nguyen Minh Triet said after two years of being affected by COVID-19 in 2020 and 2021, Da Nang recorded a strong recovery and positive growth rate this year.

In the joint efforts, the municipal People's Council regularly innovated and improved the quality of its operations, as well as deployed many drastic solutions to well fulfill its assigned tasks.

Chairman Triet emphasised that with the spirit of determination and companionship for the common development, based on the recommendations of the voters and reports, at this meeting, the municipal People’s Council will review and comment on 164 documents with many important contents. Of which, 68 proposals and resolutions in various fields are expected to be approved during the meeting.

Under its authority, the People’s Council will give opinions relating to the socio-economic development plans at grassroots level, public investment plan and budget estimates in 2023, a project on socio-cultural development in sync with the economic development during the 2021-2030, housing and urban development programmes to 2030 with a vision towards 2045, support policies for medical staff,  and the disadvantaged and the poor, and adjustments on a number of fees according to authority and compliance with regulations.

Mr. Triet asked delegates to focus on discussing, questioning, clarifying responsibilities, and proposing practical solutions and policies to remove obstacles and overcome limitations, thereby creating positive changes and motivations for the city to keep moving forward in the coming time.
