City leader extends Christmas greetings to Catholics, Protestants

A group of Da Nang leaders, led by Party Committee Deputy Secretary cum People's Council Chairman Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, on Thursday, visited the city-based Viet Nam Christian Mission and the local representative board of the Evangelical Church of Viet Nam (South) on the occasion of the Christmas season and New Year 2023.

On behalf of municipal authorities, Deputy Secretary Triet wished local Catholic and Protestant dignitaries, priests and followers a warm and merry Christmas.

He also informed about the city’s socio-economic development, attributing common achievements partly to contributions made by local Catholics and Protestants.

Lauding their great contributions to the fight against COVID-19 and the economic recovery, the city official said the city-based Viet Nam Christian Mission and the local representative board of the Evangelical Church of Viet Nam (South) have actively got involved in patriotic emulation movements, and charity and humanitarian activities, thereby contributing to ensuring social security in the city.

Mr. Triet expressed his hope that Catholic and Protestant dignitaries, priests and followers will continue to participate in campaigns launched by the municipal Fatherland Front Committee and support disadvantaged people in the community, hereby strengthening the great national unity.

The leading dignitaries of the city-based Viet Nam Christian Mission and the local representative board of the Evangelical Church of Viet Nam (South) thanked the municipal leaders for their special care on the occasion and congratulated the city on its remarkable socio-economic achievements over the past year.

They affirmed that they will continue encouraging followers to abide by the Party’s guidelines and State laws, respond to emulation movements, and ensure a ‘good secular and secular lives’.
