Da Nang Party Committee Deputy Secretary cum municipal People's Council Chairman Luong Nguyen Minh Triet chaired a reception on Wednesday for Mr. Phoxay Xayasone, Secretary of the Party Committee and Governor of the Lao Province of Salavan.

At the meeting, Deputy Secretary Triet highly applauded the visit made by Mr. Phoxay Xayasone and other senior leaders of Salavan Province. He briefed his guests on the city’s socio-economic development with a focus on developing such fields as tourism, marine economy, information technology, digital economy, and high-tech agriculture.

The city official expressed his desire to strengthen cooperation relations with south central provinces of Laos, including Salavan, in order to promote the potential and strengths of each side for socio-economic development and improving residents’ living standards in the near future.

For his part, the Lao visitor expressed his impression on Da Nang’s rapid growth. He highly appreciated Da Nang’s support for and multifaceted cooperation with Salavan, especially in training high-quality human resources, thereby contributing to the province's socio-economic development.

He also expressed his hope that on the basis of the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation, the two localities will continue fostering cooperation in the time to come.
