The favourable geographic position of being located on the East-West Economic Corridor makes it convenient for both Da Nang and Thailand to implement cooperation programmes in economy, trade, tourism, culture, education and information technology, Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh made the statement while receiving Consul General of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City Wiraka Moodhitaporn on Friday.

Vice Chairman Minh asked for help from Ms. Wiraka Moodhitaporn to act as a bridge to further promote cooperation relations between Da Nang and Thai partners and businesses, as well as strengthen cultural and people-to-people exchange activities with Thai localities. This will contribute to further fostering the good friendship between Viet Nam and Thailand in general, and Da Nang and Thai localities in particular.

In reply, the Thai diplomat expressed her impression on the beauty and post-pandemic strong recovery of Da Nang. She added that the resumption of the Da Nang - Bangkok route will contribute to promoting the bilateral cooperation relations in the spheres of trade, economy, tourism and culture between the two countries.

Currently, Da Nang is one of the leading tourist destinations among Thai tourists, and Thai businesses are very interested in the city’s investment environment, she added.

Ms. Wiraka Moodhitaporn hoped that, in the coming time, Da Nang and Thai businesses will have many practical cooperation programmes in order to deepen the bilateral friendship and cooperation.
