The Da Nang government held a meeting on Tuesday to review the 5-year implementation of the media cooperation programme with city-based press agencies for the 2017-2022 period.

Over the past five years, press agencies in the city have implemented communication and promotion work about Da Nang professionally and effectively. The images of Da Nang have been well known by many domestic and international friends, especially investors.

In response to the 2022 theme of ‘Year of safe and flexible adaptation, effective disease control and socio-economic recovery and development’, local press agencies made quality publications to encourage cadres, civil servants, government employees and local residents to uphold their determination to successfully implement the municipal Party Committee’s resolutions.

During that period, the municipal Department of Information and Communications has provided over 2,500 times of information for press agencies to widely publicise the city’s guidelines and policies, as well as facilitated more than 1,500 turns of reporters to participate in major domestic and international events held in the city, including the 2017 APEC Economic Leaders' Week, Da Nang International Fireworks Festivals, the 'Talk of Spring’ programme 2019, the Da Nang Investment Forum 2022, and the recent groundbreaking ceremony of the Lien Chieu Port project.

Speaking at the event, municipal People's Committee Vice Chairwoman Ngo Thi Kim Yen highly appreciated the companionship and support of press agencies over the past time. Between 2017 and 2022, more than 30,000 journalistic works have been published and broadcast in oral, printed and online newspapers.

Especially, in difficult time of natural disasters, COVID-19 pandemic or important events, reporters and collaborators in the locality have shown their steadfast bravery to bring the image of a dynamic but equally attractive and charming Da Nang to a large number of domestic and foreign readers.

On this occasion, 5 groups and individuals were awarded with Certificates of Merit from the municipal People’s Committee in recognition of their outstanding achievements in implementing the media cooperation programme in the 2017-2022 period.
