The Son Tra District authorities in Da Nang held a ceremony on Tuesday morning to receive Hoang Sa stele donated by the Hoang Sa Islands District People's Committee.

Head of the municipal Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission Le Van Trung, and Chairman of the Hoang Sa Islands District People's Committee Vo Ngoc Dong, made their attendance at the event.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman Vo Ngoc Dong said that Hoang Sa Islands District has been under the administrative management of Da Nang since 1997. The city has assigned officials to build the apparatus and develop the project ‘State management, protecting Viet Nam's sovereignty over Hoang Sa Islands District’.

Over the past time, the Hoang Sa Islands District has organized many activities to raise people's awareness, especially young people and students, about Viet Nam's sovereignty over Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos.

Mr. Dong highlighted that the placement of Hoang Sa Stele at the Administrative Center of Son Tra District would help raise the spirit of solidarity, awareness and responsibility of generations in following the footsteps of ancestors' tradition of fighting, preserving and protecting the country's sovereignty over its sea and islands.
