Fostering bilateral cooperation between Da Nang and the USA
On Saturday afternoon, the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organisations (DAFO) hosted a reception for a group of visitors from the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City.

DAFO Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Binh informed his guest about the city’s socio-economic situation and its development orientation.
Da Nang has established friendship and cooperative relations with 3 states of the United States, namely Oakland (California), Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania) and Houston (Texas), thereby laying the foundation for the bilateral friendship and cooperation in the region in many aspects, he added.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Binh said that DAFO and the branch of the Viet Nam - America Friendship Association in the city jointly organised many activities, including the Viet Nam - US friendship exchange, a seminar on the prospect of trade and investment cooperation between the US and Da Nang, and a competition to learn about Viet Nam - US relations.
He asked for coordination between DAFO, the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City and the branch of the Viet Nam - America Friendship Association in the city to organise an international conference entitled ‘The Viet Nam - the USA friendship and cooperation relations’ in the time to come in order to mark the 10th anniversary of the Viet Nam-US comprehensive partnership and the 28th founding anniversary of the Viet Nam - US diplomatic ties.
For her part, the US Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Susan Burns thanked DAFO leaders for their warm welcome. At the same time, she hoped that in the coming time, the USA and Da Nang will gradually develop their bilateral cooperation in many aspects, including cultural and people-to-people exchange activities, thereby contributing to deepening their diplomatic ties.
After the meeting, DAFO, the Da Nang branch of the Viet Nam - America Friendship Association, and the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City held the opening ceremony for online English classes for civil servants, officials and public employees in the city.
