In the coming time, the city will enhance exchanges and cooperation with the WB to integrate a plan for applications of IT in public asset management into the city's digital transformation programs. Therefore, Da Nang needs support from the WB to enhance exchanges with other cities around the world in a bid to learn experience in public financial management.
Also at the meeting, Mrs Alma Kanani highlighted the breakthrough in IT application in public asset management with adopting Disruptive Technology for Public Asset Governance (DT4PAG) which aims to improve governance of public infrastructure, property, and land assets through digital transformation innovations.
The WB will work with the Da Nang government to assess the city’s operations for digital transformation in all sectors, including current status of IT infrastructure and human resources along with smart city applications. In addition, heed will be paid to conducting a survey to estimate the demand for the adoption and use of digital technologies in Da Nang in order to provide adequate technical support for the city.
It is known that support for public finance management from the WB for Da Nang is part of a grant worth USD 3 million from the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs – SECO which is the Swiss federal government's center of expertise for all core issues relating to economic policy.
During the working session in August 2022 between the Da Nang government, the WB and SECO, they agreed to implement 4 components of the program in 2023. The focus will be on creating Da Nang government’s fiscal strategy, developing a medium-term budget planning for the transport and healthcare sectors in a three-year period, reviewing financial statements and results of operations of public units in the transport and health sectors, increasing public investment and managing public assets adaptive and resilient to climate change.
