Commander of US Navy ship group pays courtesy visit to Da Nang leader

During his meeting on Monday with the commander of the group of US Navy ships docking at the Tien Sa Port, Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh wished officers and crew on the US ships will have a good experience and enjoy an interesting life during their stay in Da Nang.

He affirmed that the visit made by the US Navy ships contributed to maintaining and developing the Viet Nam-US relationship in line with the framework of their comprehensive partnership.

Vice Chairman Minh briefed his guest on the city’s social-economic and tourism development and urban infrastructure construction, as well as a number of cooperation and investment activities between the US localities and Da Nang. He affirmed that all these activities greatly contributed to promoting the relationship between US localities and Da Nang, and the US and Viet Nam as a whole.

Rear Admiral Patrick Hannifin, the commander of Task Force (CTF) 70/Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 5, thanked the leaders of Da Nang and relevant agencies for their warm welcome.

He remarked that the visit of the US Navy ships aimed to promote partnership and strengthen commitment between the US and Viet Nam in responding to common challenges in the maritime field, and in Vietnamese culture and cuisine exchange activities.
