Vice Chairwoman Yen briefed her guests on her city’s investment attraction fields such as information technology, high-tech industry, innovative start-ups, tourism, services, education and healthcare.

She said that Da Nang has till date established cooperative relations with three localities of Australia, namely State of Queensland, State of South Australia and Gold Coast City. She also expressed her delight at fruitful results from cooperative and exchange programmes with Australian localities in recent years.

Mrs. Yen suggested the Australian delegation study exchange programmes so that the two sides have the opportunity to exchange experience in management and youth work.

The focus should be on mobilising Australian universities to support Da Nang in staff training through short-term training scholarships in the aspects of strategic planning, administrative management, public policy, urban management, and the building and development of an innovative startup ecosystem, she added.

For his part, Mr. Michael Petterson expressed his impression on Da Nang’s great potential and advantages, saying that the visit made by the delegation was a good opportunity for them to share experience with young local officials, especially youth organisations with a variety of community activities.

He, at the same time, hoped that the exchange session with the Da Nang Youth Union will have many good results.
