During his meeting with Lao guests, Chairman Chinh expressed his pleasure at the fruitful development of the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Da Nang and Champasak Province, and Viet Nam and Laos as a whole, over recent years.

He believed that, in the near future, the contents signed in the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the 2023-2027 period between the two localities would continue to be effectively implemented.

Mr. Chinh added that the municipal government granted 10 scholarships for officials, civil servants and students of Champasak Province to study and exchange experience in Da Nang during the 2022 - 2023 academic year. Work is expected to start on the second Vietnamese language centre project in Champasak Province with a total investment of about VND10 billion in 2024.

The host hoped that the two localities would continue to have more effective cooperation activities, thereby promoting the development of each locality and tightening the Viet Nam-Laos special friendship.

For his part, Governor of Champasak Province Vilayvong Bouddakham highly appreciated Da Nang's post-pandemic recovery and the important results in the cooperation relationship between the two sides.

He also invited businesses in Da Nang to visit and seek investment opportunities in Champasak Province in the time to come, hereby promoting economic development between the two localities, and strengthening the friendly cooperation relationship between Laos and Viet Nam as a whole.
