Da Nang, India enhance tourism and seaport cooperation
During his reception on Tuesday for Indian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Viet Nam Sandeep Arya, Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh introduced him to the city’s fields appealing for investment such as information technology, high-tech industry, innovative start-ups, seaports, airports, tourism, services and logistics.

He said that, in recent years, Da Nang has emerged as an attractive destination for Indian tourists. In the first quarter of 2023, Indian tourists ranked 6th in the top international tourist markets to Da Nang. However, the cessation of direct international flights between Da Nang and India has limited the exploitation of this potential market.
As for the development of seaports, the Adani Group in India is showing its keen interest in the Lien Chieu Port project.
The city leader hoped that Ambassador Sandeep Arya will introduce more potential Indian investors to seek seaport investment in Da Nang.
He asked the Indian diplomat to act as a bridge to soon promote the opening of direct flights between major Indian cities and Da Nang, thereby contributing to luring more Indian tourists to Da Nang.

Chairman Chinh expressed his delight at the good cooperation relationship between Viet Nam and India. India is currently Viet Nam’s 8th largest trading partner. However, the localities of India and Da Nang have yet to establish friendly cooperative relationships.
He, therefore, asked for help from Mr. Sandeep Arya to introduce technological and tourism businesses from his country to invest in Da Nang in the near future.
“We are committed to giving our best support and creating all conditions for Indian investors to come and explore investment opportunities in Da Nang” Mr. Le Trung Chinh said.

For his part, the Indian guest thanked the city for successfully organising the mass yoga performance in Da Nang on the occasion of the 9th International Day of Yoga (June 21, 2015 - June 21, 2023).
Ambassador Sandeep Arya affirmed his willingness to support Da Nang to strengthen cooperative relations with Indian localities in the spheres of tourism and information technology, as well as introduce two major Indian cities of Bangalore and Hyderabad which share similarities with Da Nang to promote trade cooperation in the coming time.
