Da Nang leader hosts New Zealand's Ambassador to Viet Nam
Da Nang People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh on Monday afternoon hosted New Zealand’s Ambassador to Viet Nam, Ms. Tredene Dobson
During his reception for New Zealand’s diplomat, Chairman Chinh asked her to act as a bridge between New Zealand and Da Nang to organize seminars and forums for businesses of the two sides in an attempt to help them to explore opportunities for trade and investment cooperation with their partners.

The ambassador of New Zealand was briefed on Da Nang's socio-economic development, its potentials and strengths and development strategies, plus projects available for investment attraction in the city.
Da Nang leader said that there are currently 4 New Zealand’s businesses operating in Da Nang. He took the opportunity to ask for help from the ambassador of New Zealand to encourage more businesses from her country to seek investment opportunities in the city as the number of New Zealand investors in Da Nang is much lower than expected.
Mr Chinh highlighted the important role of the New Zealand Embassy in Viet Nam and New Zealand Trade and Enterprise in fostering bilateral economic relations between New Zealand and Da Nang, and New Zealand and Viet Nam as a whole.
It is expected that a group of Da Nang’s leaders will pay a visit to New Zealand in October. Chairman Chinh asked for support from Ambassador Tredene Dobson so that the upcoming visits by the city’s delegation to New Zealand's localities will achieve fruitful results.
For her part, Ambassador Tredene Dobson remarked that New Zealand is focusing on promoting the development of tourism and seaport sectors that have high growth potential in both New Zealand and Da Nang .
This visit by Ambassador Tredene Dobson was expected to open up new opportunities for two sides to leverage their respective strengths.
The diplomat of New Zealand affirmed that she would do her utmost to foster the friendship and cooperative relations between New Zealand and Da Nang that are expected to reap more fruitful results.
