US Navy ships arrive in Da Nang
The U.S. Navy's only forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) docked at Da Nang's Tien Sa Port on Sunday, beginning a 5-day visit to Viet Nam from June 25 - 30, and marking the third time a U.S. aircraft carrier has visited the country since 2018.

The aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan arrived in Da Nang with two escort ships, the guided-missile cruisers USS Antietam (CG 54) and USS Robert Smalls (CG 62).
The visit to Da Nang is part of activities to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the U.S.-Viet Nam Comprehensive Partnership (2013-2023).
Municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh presided over an official welcome for the US Navy ships. Also, in attendance at the welcome ceremony were representatives of the Ministry of National Defence and the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs, along with the US Ambassador, the US Defense Attaché and some officials from the US Embassy in Viet Nam.
During their stay in the city, navy officers and men will pay courtesy visits to the city's leaders and the Naval Region 3 High Command.
Groups of officers and crew members will take part in a number of community activities in Da Nang such as cultural and sports exchange, food and English, plus some humanitarian activities at the Village of Hope and the Hoa Mai Orphanage Centre.
The visit to Viet Nam by the US Navy ships contributes to fostering the Viet Nam-US relationships, as well as affirming Viet Nam's ability to ensure logistics and technology in welcoming foreign ships, thereby promoting the image of the country and people of Viet Nam to the world.
