Da Nang People's Council Chairman Luong Nguyen Minh Triet held a reception on Wednesday for a high-ranking delegation of the People's Association (PA) of Singapore, led by its Chief Executive Director Jimmy Toh Yong Leng.

Mr. Triet applauded the fruitful cooperation between Da Nang and Singapore. He said that, currently, 20 Da Nang enterprises have regular trade relations with Singapore. The city has till date attracted 31 Singaporean-invested projects with a total registered capital of more than US$ 838.6 million.

The host suggested Mr. Jimmy Toh Yong Leng act as a bridge to appeal for more Singaporean businesses to invest in Da Nang in the near future, as well as strengthen people-to-people exchange activities to improve understanding of the culture, people and traditions of Viet Nam and Singapore.

For his part, Chief Executive Director Jimmy Toh Yong Leng thanked Mr Triet for his warm welcome, as well as informed the functions and duties of the Singaporean PA to the host.

He hoped that in 2023, Da Nang and Singapore would jointly organise many activities and events to tighten friendly relations, and celebrate the 50^th anniversary of the establishment of Viet Nam-Singapore diplomatic relations and the 10^th anniversary of their strategic partnership.
