Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh hosted a reception on Wednesday for Mayoress of Oakland City Sheng Thao and a delegation of officials and businesses from the US State of California.

During his meeting with his American guests , Chairman Chinh highly lauded the comprehensive partnership between Viet Nam and the USA in general, and Da Nang and Oakland in particular. He added that the two cities have set up the cooperative relationship since 2005.

He pledged that the municipal government would create maximum conditions for foreign investors, including those from the United States, to operate effectively in the city.

Mr. Chinh revealed that Da Nang is focusing on developing and attracting investment in the spheres of information technology, high-tech industry, innovative start-ups, seaports, airports, tourism, services, education and healthcare.

Chairman Chinh took the opportunity to ask for support from Mayoress Sheng Thao to introduce and promote businesses and partners of Oakland City and the USA as well to Da Nang in order to seek cooperation and investment opportunities on potential spheres. Therefore, the city has established two working groups to connect and facilitate economic development in various fields.

For her part, Oakland Mayoress Sheng Thao thanked the city leaders for the warm welcome, saying that the visit will contribute to strengthening the cooperation relationship between Viet Nam and the USA, and between Oakland and Da Nang.

Mayoress Sheng Thao agreed to establish two working groups at the request of Chairman Le Trung Chinh and affirmed to act as a bridge to promote the development of friendship and cooperation between Oakland and Da Nang cities in the coming time.
