Secretary Quang remarked that Da Nang is one of Vietnamese localities that identify tourism economic development as a spearhead in the city's economic structure, thereby attracting many domestic and foreign tourists.

In the first half of 2023, the number of Malaysian tourist arrivals in Da Nang is very high. Besides, Da Nang is focusing on developing and calling for investment in such spheres as tourism services, information technology, and high-tech industry.

The city leader took the opportunity to ask for support from Ambassador Dato' Tan Yang Thai to promote cooperation in potential fields between Da Nang and Malaysian localities, as well as appeal for Malaysian businesses and investors to invest and do business in Da Nang.

Mr. Quang expressed his hope that the Malaysian Embassy in Viet Nam would organise a wide range of cultural and sports activities to promote people-to-people exchange activities between Malaysia and Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole, to mark the 50th founding anniversary of the Viet Nam - Malaysia diplomatic ties.

For his part, Ambassador Dato' Tan Yang Thai thanked the city leader for the warm welcome to the delegation. He affirmed that Da Nang had a direct flight to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which is a very favourable thing for the two sides to cooperate in aspects which are their strengths.

Da Nang is an extremely attractive tourist destination for international tourists, so many Malaysian nationals choose Da Nang to travel. The Malaysian diplomat hoped that more direct flights between Da Nang and Malaysian localities will be opened in the near future.

Till date, Da Nang has attracted 18 Malaysian-invested projects, totalling over US$222 million.
