The delegation of Da Nang’s officials, led by municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Tran Chi Cuong, paid a working trip to Thailand from October 2 - 4. During their stay in ‘the Land of Golden Pagodas’, the delegation visited Khon Kaen, Udon Thani, Bangkok and Phuket.

The Da Nang delegation, led by Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong, had a working session with leaders of Khon Kaen Province.

On October 2, the group of Da Nang visitors had a working session with Governor of Khon Kaen Province Kraison Kongchalad.

Mr. Kraison Kongchalad briefed his Da Nang guests on his province’s potential and advantages. He expressed his desire to promote the friendly relationship and cooperation between the two localities according to the Memorandum of Understanding signed with Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Le Trung Chinh in November 2022.

Vice Chairman Cuong thanked Mr. Kraison Kongchalad and the Khon Kaen provincial government for the warm welcome. He expressed his desire to effectively implement specific programmes between Da Nang and Khon Kaen Province in the coming time.

He requested the Khon Kaen provincial government to soon promote the opening of a direct flight between the two localities in a bid to facilitate the development of investment and tourism between the two localities and other neighbouring localities.

Mr. Kraison Kongchalad agreed that in the coming time, the two sides will develop a specific framework, and at the same time invite the two local associations to give their opinions before agreeing on implementing actions.

During his meetings with the Bangkok Cruise Association and the Thai Chamber of Commerce on October 3, the Da Nang leader informed the partners about the city’s potential and advantages, along with its investment priorities on such key aspects as education, culture, tourism, logistics and high-tech agriculture.

On the afternoon of October 4, the Da Nang delegation had a meeting with leaders of Phuket Province.

On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Cuong hoped that Da Nang and Phuket would effectively implement cooperation programmes and support tourism promotion in the coming time.

He also suggested the Phuket provincial government research and promote the opening of direct flights between Da Nang and Phuket in a bid to facilitate the development of investment and tourism between the two localities and neighboring localities in the near future.

In reply, Mr. Amnuay Pinsuwan, the Deputy Governor of Phuket Province, hoped that the tourism and trade associations of the two localities will have the opportunity to meet in order to propose cooperation content.

Previously, Vice Chairman Tran Chi Cuong and the Da Nang delegation had visited the Vietnamese Consul General in Khon Kaen Province and overseas Vietnamese in the province, as well as had met with the Thailand-Viet Nam Entrepreneurs' Association in Udon Thani Province.
