Accordingly, the overall goal is to build Da Nang into one of the major socio-economic centers of the country and Southeast Asia.

According to the plan, Da Nang will implement 7 key tasks with a focus on developing 3 groups of typical, main and supporting tourism products.

Regarding the direction of development of important industries and fields, top priority will be given to developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector, as well as turning Da Nang into a center for high-quality tourism and services, and a hub for high-class, green, smart marine and eco-tourism resorts, and for international conferences, festivals and events.

Importance will be attached to developing tourism with breakthrough creative thinking combined with technology application and attached to nature, traditional culture and history.

Also, heed will be on targeting ‘high quality’ products and services in all types, as well as prioritising the development of high-end and ultra-luxury product/service lines.

The city is oriented to become one of the country’s high-tech industrial and supporting industry centers.

Importance will be attached to continuing to adjust the industrial structure in the direction of gradually reducing land- and labor-intensive manufacturing industries with low added value, and limiting and gradually eliminating manufacturing industries that cause environmental pollution; as well as increasing the proportion of manufacturing industries and fields with high technology and knowledge content, high added value, and environmental friendliness.

Specifically, the city will develop high-tech industrial fields, such as microelectronics, chip and semiconductor technologies, precision mechanics, mechanics - electronics, optoelectronics and automation, environmental technology, new energy technology, new material technology, and nanotechnology.

The growth rate of the processing and manufacturing industry will reach over 12%/year.

Da Nang will focus on supporting industries with a focus on production and supply fields for priority industries and high-tech industries; and creating conditions for the development of industrial clusters.
