EU enterprises committed to supporting Da Nang in hi-tech development, green transformation

During his reception on Wednesday for Ambassador and Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Viet Nam Julien Guerrier, Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh informed about the potential and cooperation needs of Da Nang in such fields as semiconductor technology, green transformation and digital transformation.

The city leader highly appreciated the cooperative relationship with, and active support from, EU countries in many aspects in recent times.

He added that, his city has been focusing on developing important spheres of IC semiconductor technology; artificial intelligence (AI) and international financial centre.

Mr. Minh voiced his hope that Ambassador Julien Guerrier will introduce and coordinate with concerned parties to bring business delegations to Da Nang to learn about the investment environment and cooperation opportunities here..

The municipal government is committed to creating a stable investment environment, and ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of foreign investors and businesses, including those from EU countries, so that they operate stably and effectively in Da Nang.

In reply, Ambassador Julien Guerrier said that the abovementioned fields were very consistent with the investment orientation of the European Chamber of Commerce in Viet Nam (EuroCham) in the coming time.

Currently, the Ubisoft France, a game programming company, is operating very effectively in Da Nang. According to the company’s assessment, Da Nang has many attractive incentives and support policies for foreign businesses involving IT and hi-tech industries, contributing to promoting the region as a technology development centre in the future.

In addition to technology, the EU wishes to cooperate with the central city in the field of high-quality human resource training.

Mr. Julien Guerrier pledged to continue supporting Viet Nam in general, and Da Nang in particular, about green transformation, innovation and modern technology, making Viet Nam a prosperous and sustainable country.
