Lunar New Year gifts given to Ly Son and Con Co islanders

Representatives of the Zone 3 Naval Command, Da Nang, agencies, units, localities, and businesses nationwide, have recently visited Quang Tri Province’s Con Co Island District and Quang Ngai Province’s Ly Son Island District on the occasion of the forthcoming Tet Festival 2024.

During his visit to the Ly Son Island District, Rear Admiral Nguyen Dang Tien, who is Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of Naval Region 3, extended his Tet wishes to local residents, and military officers and men on the island.

He highly appreciated the island district for its outstanding achievements in the fields of socio-economy, and defence - security. He also acknowledged great support made by local officials, Party members and people for officers and soldiers of Radar Station 550 of Regiment 351 under the Zone 3 Naval Command in particular and the armed forces in general i.

Deputy Secretary of the Ly Son Island District Party Committee cum Chairman of the People's Council Do Thanh Tan thanked the delegation for their special care and support for officers, soldiers and people of Ly Son Island District.

He pledged to promote the spirit of military and civil solidarity, uphold determination to guarantee national defence and security, and closely coordinate between officers and soldiers of Radar Station 550 in preserving political security, social order and safety in the locality.

Also on the same day, the delegation offered incense at the martyrs’ cemetery of Ly Son Island District, and a monument and memorial house dedicated to the Hoang Sa Flotilla. They presented Tet gifts to agencies, units, armed forces, officers, soldiers and residents on the island district.

On the occasion, the delegation of Da Nang gave 11 gifts to agencies, units, and armed forces stationed in Ly Son Island District; and 100 other gifts to officers and soldiers of the armed forces working and living in Ly Son Island District.

Previously, on January 23, the working group visited and gave Tet gifts to residents, officers and men in the Con Co Island District, Quang Tri Province.

In reply, leaders of the Con Co Island District thanked the working group for their special care. He also took the opportunity to ask the armed forces to protect security, order, and sovereignty over the seas and islands, and regularly monitor the situations and ensure combat readiness.

On this occasion, Da Nang city gives 10 gifts to agencies, units, and armed forces stationed in Con Co Island District and 100 gifts to people, officers, and soldiers of the armed forces in Con Co island district.

According to Head of the Culture and Social Affairs Committee of the municipal People's Council Nguyen Dinh Khanh Van, leader of the Da Nang working delegation, over recent years, the Party Committee, government and people of Da Nang have always looked towards the islands and seas of the fatherland in general, and naval officers, soldiers and fishermen in particular with many meaningful and practical activities. In particular, the city raised about VND100 billion to support the beloved Truong Sa Archipelago.
