Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Le Quang Nam hosted a reception on Thursday for a delegation from Laos’ Savannakhet Province, led by Vice Governor Lingthong Sengtavanh.

During the meeting, Vice Chairman Nam informed Lao guests about the city’s socio-economic achievements last year.

He added that, Da Nang deployed a number of cooperation programmes in 2023 as part of the Memoranda of Understanding between the city and five south central provinces of Laos, including Savannakhet Province, during the 2023-2027 period.

Especially, the city government granted scholarships to officials and students from Laos localities to study at the University of Da Nang. In particular, scholarships. funded by the municipal government. were given to 19 officials and students of Savannakhet Province to study in the city.

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2024, Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Le Quang Nam wished to the Party Committee, government and people of Savannakhet Province a happy and prosperous lunar new year.

For his part, Deputy Governor of Savannakhet Province Lingthong Sengtavanh thanked the leaders of Da Nang for devoting resources to support Savannakhet Province over the past years.

On behalf of the Party Committee, government and people of Savannakhet Province, the Lao diplomat wished the government and people of Da Nang a happy and warm Tet. He hoped that the relationship with Da Nang will be further developed in the year ahead.
