Da Nang leader sends New Year greetings to Salavane Province

Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Le Trung Chinh, on Wednesday, led a group of city officials, to visit and conveyed his warmest New Year greetings to leaders and people of Salavane Province on the occasion of the Lao traditional New Year festival Bunpimay.

He wished the Party, government and people of Salavane Province a healthy, happy and prosperous new year. He also affirmed that the Party, State and people of Da Nang and Viet Nam as a whole will always maintain and nurture the special traditional friendship between Viet Nam and Laos, and the friendly relationship and effective cooperation between Da Nang and Salavane Province.

Chairman Chinh voiced his hope that the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and Laos in general, and Da Nang and Salavane in particular, will be forever eternal and sustainable.

On behalf of the city, Mr. Chinh donated Salavane Province VND500 million to support the disadvantaged to celebrate a warm and peaceful New Year.

Also on the same day, the delegation of Da Nang paid visits to the Vietnamese Centre and the Vietnamese Association of Salavane Province.

During the visits, Chairman Chinh highly lauded great efforts made by the centre's staff and teachers in teaching Vietnamese to Lao students and officials, and acknowledged the role of the Vietnamese Association in promoting the spirit of solidarity and mutual love of the Vietnamese community.

He took the opportunity to encourage people to well comply with the guidelines, policies and laws of the Party and State of Laos; as well as preserve and promote national culture.

The delegation provided VND50 million in funding for the Vietnamese Association of Salavane Province and presented the province’s Vietnamese Center a set of audio-visual equipment to serve the work of teaching Vietnamese.
