Preferential policies to attract overseas Vietnamese intellectuals and experts in IC and semiconductor fields to transfer knowledge and technology, and support policies for trainees of semiconductor and microchip training programmes as well, will be needed in a bid to promote the development of semiconductor industry in Da Nang.

The remark was made by municipal Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang at the Tuesday meeting to review the city’s situation in the first quarter of the year, and discuss important tasks for the second quarter.

Giving a closing speech at the event, the city Party chief urged party committees, party organisations, authorities, the Front committees and socio-political organisations at all levels, along with the entire political system, to concentrate on a number of key task groups.

Priority should be given to reviewing and perfecting specific mechanisms and policies for the city development according to the opinions and appraisals of central agencies, renewing methods to improve the Party's leadership capacity, and building a strong and effective Party and government, he emphasised.

Great efforts will be made to prepare for party congresses at all levels for the 2025 - 2030 term, as well as closely coordinate with the Ministry of Home Affairs in the process of organising and implementing the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units for the 2023 - 2025 and 2026 - 2030 periods.

Secretary Quang stressed the need to take measures to promote the development of the city's tourism industry, with a focus on developing new products in the summer tourist season of 2024, especially local nighttime tourism products.

At the same time, special attention should be paid to removing difficulties and obstacles facing businesses and supporting them to promote production and business activities, the city leader noted.

Heed will be on completing and submitting to the Prime Minister for approval the Da Nang master plan for the 2021 - 2030 period, with a vision towards 2050; as well as urgently preparing and approving the entire zoning plan, and creating conditions for investment promotion and project implementation.

Social welfare work in the city needs to be done well, especially implementing policies for the city's meritorious and disadvantaged people, in order to ensure a minimum standard of living for them and guarantee security and safety of cultural, sports and political events in the city.
