During his visit to Da Nang, Cuban Ambassador to Viet Nam Orlando Hernández Guillén had meetings with municipal Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang and People’s Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh on Friday.

Expressing his impression of the central city’s remarkable achievements in various aspects, especially tourism after COVID-19, the Cuban diplomat pledged to become a bridge linking Cuban localities and businesses with Da Nang, contributing to strengthening the traditional solidarity and friendship between the two countries in the near future.

In reply, Secretary Quang informed the Cuban guest about the city’s socio-economic development situation and some policies and mechanisms specific to the city. In particular, Da Nang is allowed by the Central Government to establish a Free Trade Zone and a number of policies and mechanisms to develop the fields of hi-tech, semiconductors, and artificial intelligence. These were an important driving force for the city’s rapid development in the future.

Mr. Quang affirmed that the Party and State of Viet Nam in general, and Da Nang in particular, always treasured the special traditional relationship, both as comrades and brothers with Cuba; and at the same time, will be willing to share the difficulties that the Cuban people are facing.

Meanwhile, People’s Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh expressed his wish that the Cuban diplomat will do his utmost to promote the culture and image of Da Nang to Cuban people, thereby expanding cooperation between Da Nang and Cuban localities in the years to come.
