Da Nang leader presents Mid-Autumn Festival gifts to children of AO

Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh, on Tuesday, visited and presented Mid-Autumn Festival gifts to children being cared for at the Da Nang Care Centre for Victims of Agent Orange (AO) and Disadvantaged Children in Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Nhon Commue.

During his visit at the centre, Deputy Secretary Vinh highly lauded the centre’s leaders and staff for their dedication to caring for over 90 children of AO.

He also praised the centre for its effective initiatives of mobilising funding from domestic and foreign organisations and individuals to resolve difficulties and obstacles and care for and educate disadvantaged children.

Mr. Vinh informed that, over the past years, the city has been paying special attention to caring for and educating children in special and difficult circumstances, including victims of AO. He, at the same time, requested the centre's leaders to take note of the opinions, promptly report, propose, and recommend to the city's leaders to find solutions in order to better perform the task of caring for and educating victims of AO.

On the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival 2024, Deputy Secretary Vinh wished all the children at the centre to always be happy, healthy, and have a joyful and happy Mid-Autumn Festival.

Established in 2006, the Da Nang Care Centre for Victims of Agent Orange (AO) and Disadvantaged Children is currently caring for 90 victims of AO at two facilities. Every day, the children participate in entertainment and vocational training activities to improve their intelligence and soon integrate into the community.
