During his reception on Friday for Vice Chairman of the Lao National Assembly Sommad Pholsena, Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang congratulated the success of the seminar on the role of the legislative body in building and implementing socio-economic development policies recently held in the city.

The city leader also expressed his delight at the fruitful results from cooperative programmes with south central provinces of Laos during the 2023 - 2027 period.

He informed his Lao guest on the Politburo’s Conclusion No. 79-KL/TW on continuing to implement its Resolution No. 43-NQ/TW dated January 24, 2019 on building and developing Da Nang by 2030, with a vision towards 2045, and the National Assembly-issued Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15 on the urban administration organisation and the piloting of a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Da Nang. These were the mechanisms that create the foundation for the rapid, stable and long-term development of Da Nang, he added.

Mr. Quang voiced his hope that Da Nang will continue to receive special care of the Lao Party, State and National Assembly in implementing new policies and guidelines issued by the Politburo and the National Assembly of Viet Nam in the coming time.

Mr. Sommad Pholsena, for his part, thanked the leader of Da Nang for his warm welcome, showing his impression on the city’s dynamic growth. At the same time, he highly appreciated the cooperation and assistance of Da Nang to the south central provinces of Laos.

The Lao NA Vice Chairman expressed his interest in the urban government model that Da Nang is implementing and hoped that the city's leaders will create favourable conditions for Laos to learn from its experience.

Mr. Sommad Pholsena briefed the city leader on some of the results achieved during his working trip to Viet Nam. He vowed that he will do his utmost to offer the best possible facilitation to Vietnamese enterprises to effectively invest and do business in Laos.
