Receiving Governor of Laos' Savannakhet Province Bounchom Oubonpaseuth on Thursday, Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang affirmed that the city, and Viet Nam as a whole, always treasured and bolstered the special traditional friendship cooperation with Laos, especially Savannakhet, across all fields.

Secretary Quang also informed his Lao guest on the Politburo’s Conclusion No. 79-KL/TW on continuing to implement its Resolution No. 43-NQ/TW dated January 24, 2019 on building and developing Da Nang by 2030, with a vision towards 2045, and the National Assembly-issued Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15 on the urban administration organisation and the piloting of a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Da Nang.

He said these were considered a crucial driving force for the city to develop rapidly and become one of the country’s major socio-economic centres by 2030. During its development process, Da Nang has always accompanied south-central provinces of Laos.

In reply, Governor of Savannakhet Province Bounchom Ubonpaseuth appreciated the results of friendship and cooperation between Da Nang and Savannakhet Province in the period of 2023 - 2027.

He said he hopes that in the coming time, Da Nang will continue to support Savannakhet Province, especially in the field of education and training, thereby strengthening the friendly cooperation relationship between Laos and Viet Nam in general, between Savannakhet Province and Da Nang in particular.
