National Assemblies of Viet Nam and Laos promote cooperation

Vice Chairman of Vietnamese National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai held talks with his Lao counterpart Sommad Pholsena in Da Nang on Wednesday.

Mr. Hai highly praised the Lao Party Committee, government and people on their recent achievements. In particular, the Lao National Assembly and Government have adopted and implemented many policies to realise national goals in resolving economic and financial difficulties.

In order for the activities between the two National Assemblies to be more substantive and effective in the coming time, Vice Chairman Hai suggested the two countries continue to maintain regular delegation exchanges at all levels, as well as increase the exchange of experience in policy and law making in macro management and socio-economic recovery between the two countries and joint supervision activities to promote the implementation of key cooperation projects between the two sides.

He also believed that the efforts and close cooperation between the two National Assemblies will contribute to consolidating and strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States and peoples of Viet Nam and Laos.

Mr. Sommad Pholsena, in turn, informed the Vietnamese counterpart about the socio-economic situation of Laos and the resolution of the Lao Politburo on building an independent and self-reliant economy in the new period.

He affirmed that the visit aimed to implement the cooperation agreement between the National Assemblies of Viet Nam and Laos.

According to him, the upcoming seminar scheduled for September 5 will provide a platform for both sides to learn from each other in these areas.
