Welcoming the delegation, Chairman Thang briefed the Lao guests on the city's socio-economic situation, and the policies and strategic orientations for its development until 2030 with a vision to 2045. The organisational structure and operations of the municipal People's Council were also introduced.

The official emphasised that, on the basis of the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and Laos, Da Nang has always paid attention to building a close cooperative relationship with the southern and central provinces of Laos, including Salavan.

In 2024, the city continues to grant scholarships for 30 officials and students of Salavan Province to study in Da Nang, as well as send 2 teachers to teach Vietnamese at the Vietnamese Language Centre in the Lao locality. Additionally, efforts are made to implement the project to upgrade the Friendship Primary School of Vietnamese Association in the province into a Friendship Primary and Junior High School.

For his part, Chairman of the Salavan Provincial People's Council Siheang Hom Sombat thanked Da Nang for its cooperation and support for his locality in all fields.

At the same time, he highly appreciated the valuable experience sharing in People's Council activities, emphasising that these experiences will help Salavan further improve the effectiveness of the Provincial People's Council's activities.

He hoped that in the coming time, the two localities will increase the exchange of experiences in the activities of the People's Council, especially in supervision work.
