Da Nang expands cooperative relations with South Korean localities

Secretary Quang informed his Korean guest on the city’s socio-economic situation and its future development orientation.
He added that the National Assembly of Viet Nam recently issued Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15 on the organisation of urban government and piloting specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Da Nang. He affirmed this was a mechanism that created a foundation for the rapid and sustainable development of Da Nang in the coming time. In particular, the focus will be on establishing a free trade zone; innovation, science and technology; semiconductor and artificial intelligence (AI). Also, the city is allowed to establish an international financial centre.
On the occasion, Secretary Quang asked for support from Pyeongtaek City to promote the city’s cooperation and investment opportunities in semiconductor field to local businesses and partners. At the same time, he suggested that the two sides promote the signing of a letter of intent to establish the bilateral relations as a basis for carrying out cooperation activities in the near future.

For his part, Mayor Jung Jang Seon expressed his impression of the rapid growth of Da Nang, highly appreciating the city’s foreign investment attraction policy.
He vowed to do his utmost to introduce Da Nang's investment environment to Pyeongtaek businesses and partners. He also hoped that many cooperation programmes will be implemented effectively between the two cities, greatly contributing to strengthening the friendly relationship between South Korea and Viet Nam.
Also on the same day, a group of officials in Da Nang’s Cam Le District, led by Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of the district Ngo Ngoc Hau, visited and worked with the Department of Culture, Tourism and Sports, and the Culture and Tourism Fund of Jeonbuk Province, South Korea.
During the meeting, the two sides had a discussion about culture and tourism cooperation activities between Da Nang and Jeonbuk Province in general, and Cam Le District and localities of Jeonbuk province in particular.
The delegation also had working sessions with Jeonju City and Muju District, Jeonbuk Province.
On the occasion, Cam Le District and Muju District signed a Memorandum of Understanding on establishing friendly relationships and cooperation in the future.
