Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang on Thursday highlighted the need to enhance exchanges of delegations at all levels, cultural activities and high-quality human resources between the city and Kanagawa prefecture of Japan during a reception for Governor Kuroiwa Yuji who is on a working trip to Viet Nam.

Secretary Quang informed that the National Assembly of Viet Nam has recently issued Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15 on the organisation of urban government and piloting specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Da Nang. These are the mechanisms that create the foundation for the rapid, stable and long-term development of the central coastal city.

He added that the city is concentrating on establishing a free trade zone; innovation, science and technology; and semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI). In addition, the city is allowed to establish an international financial centre.

The city Party chief took the opportunity to invite the leaders of Kanagawa prefecture to attend the Forum of Friendship and Cooperation Cities 2025 slated to take place in Da Nang in January 2025.

For his part, Governor Kuroiwa Yuji thanked the city leader for his warm welcome and expressed his hope that the two localities will continue to deepen their bilateral relationships in the coming time.

Sharing about the Kanagawa Festival 2024, Governor Kuroiwa Yuji said that the festival was an opportunity for Da Nang people to better understand about Kanagawa and Japanese culture and cuisine, as well as to promote cultural exchange and cooperation in many areas of mutual interest.

The Japanese guest thanked Da Nang for its attention and support for organising the Kanagawa Festival 2024 in the city. He pledged to make efforts to promote the image of Da Nang with great investment potential to Japanese enterprises.

The Kanagawa Festival 2024 took place at the Mikazuki Hotel on Thursday afternoon with some attractive activities, including unique art performances, and a presentation contest with the theme "Joining hands to paint a picture of the future of Viet Nam - Japan in the next 10 years".
