Fostering solidarity, friendship between Vietnamese and Lao people

A ceremony to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the traditional day of Viet Nam’s volunteer soldiers and experts in Laos (October 30, 1949 - 2024) took place in Da Nang on Saturday.

The event was jointly organised by the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organisations, the city branch of the Viet Nam - Laos Friendship Association, and the Lao Consulate General in Da Nang.

In his remarks at the ceremony, Mr. Ho Ky Minh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee cum Chairman of the Viet Nam - Laos Friendship Association of the city, emphasised the special significance of the event in not only reviewing the traditional roots of the Viet Nam - Laos and Laos - Viet Nam relationships during the revolutionary period against the imperialist invaders, but also expressing gratitude for the great contributions of the Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts.

Mr. Ho Ky Minh voiced his hope that comrades will continue to promote the tradition of Uncle Ho's soldiers to develop the special, loyal and steadfast solidarity between Viet Nam and Laos.

For his part, Lao Consul General in Da Nang Souphanh Hadaoheuang highly appreciated and acknowledged the great contributions and sacrifices of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts for Laos.

In any period and circumstance, the Lao Party, government, armed forces and people of all ethnic groups will, together with the Party, Government, Army and people of Viet Nam, preserve and promote the relationship between the two countries to be forever sustainable to deserve the great sacrifices of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts performing international missions in Laos.

At the ceremony, Colonel Tran Nhu Tiep, Head of the Liaison Committee of Vietnamese Volunteer Soldiers and Military Experts Helping the Lao Revolution in Da Nang, shared about the significance of the traditional day of Viet Nam’s volunteer soldiers and experts in Laos, as well as the special friendship and affection in which the army and people of the two countries stood side by side to gain independence for Laos.
