City leader pays pre-Christmas visits to Diocese of Da Nang, Christian Mission, Evangelical Church of Viet Nam

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh led a delegation of city officials to visit the Diocese of Da Nang, the Evangelical Church of Viet Nam (South) and the city-based Viet Nam Christian Mission on Friday.

At the Diocese of Da Nang, on behalf of the city leaders, Deputy Secretary Vinh sent Christmas greetings to Bishop Dang Duc Ngan who is Coadjutor Archbishop of Hue Archdiocese cum Bishop of the Da Nang Diocese, and Catholic dignitaries and followers citywide.

He briefed on the city's socio-economic development in 2024 with many good results, affirming that these results were partly attributed to great contributions by Catholic dignitaries and followers in the city.

Mr. Vinh expressed his belief that Catholic dignitaries and followers in the city will always promote the tradition of ‘loving God - loving the country’, and accompany the nation, the city and people to build Da Nang into a prosperous, beautiful, peaceful, civilised and modern city in the time to come.

For his part, Bishop Dang Duc Ngan thanked the Deputy Secretary Vinh for his good wishes. He also affirmed that the city's Catholics will continue to accompany the government during the process of building and developing Da Nang.

When visiting the Evangelical Church of Viet Nam (South), Mr. Vinh wished Protestant dignitaries, priests and followers a peaceful Christmas and many blessings from God. He voiced his hope that they will continue to promote the spirit of great national unity, as well as actively participate in campaigns and emulation movements launched by the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of the city.

Pastor Nguyen Thanh Hong, Head of the Representative Board of Protestantism in Da Nang under the Evangelical Church of Viet Nam (South), thanked the city leaders for their special care on the occasion.

He affirmed that he will continue to mobilise Protestant dignitaries, priests and followers to live a "good life, good religion", thereby contributing to building the great national unity bloc, and promoting the city’s progress.

Meanwhile, on behalf of the municipal leaders, Deputy Secretary Vinh sent Christmas and New Year 2025 greetings with many good and peaceful things to Pastor Nguyen Quang Duc from the Viet Nam Christian Mission, along with dignitaries, officials and parishioners.

The city leader hoped that the Viet Nam Christian Mission will promote its good traditions, as well as mobilise monks and parishioners to unite with the city in developing the city's economy, and ensuring social security.

Pastor Nguyen Quang Duc thanked the city's authorities for creating favourable conditions for the Viet Nam Christian Mission activities in the past time. He affirmed that he will continue to encourage Protestant dignitaries and followers to further promote the tradition of patriotism and work together to build a prosperous and happy city.
