The Chinese Consulate General in Da Nang in collaboration with the municipal Union of Friendship Organisations, the city branch of the Viet Nam - China Friendship Association, and the Viet Nam Television Centre in the Central - Highlands Region (VTV8), hosted a ceremony on Wednesday evening to celebrate the 75^th anniversary of the founding anniversary of Viet Nam - China diplomatic relations (January 18).

The event was attended by Da Nang People's Council Chairman Ngo Xuan Thang, Chairman of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of the city Le Van Trung, Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, and representatives of leaders of Quang Nam Province and Hue City.

On the Chinese side, there were Chinese Consul General in Da Nang Dong Bi You, officials and staff of the Consulate General of China, Chinese students, and representatives of foreign consular agencies and international organisations in the city.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Da Nang People's Council Ngo Xuan Thang said that 2025 marked the 75^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and China (January 18, 1950 - January 18, 2025). This was an opportunity for the two countries to look back at their diplomatic relations over the past years, thereby further strengthening the friendship, cooperation and mutual understanding between the two peoples. The ceremony also marked the beginning of the "Year of Viet Nam - China Humanistic Exchange".

He also highly appreciated the Chinese Consulate in Da Nang for its role as a bridge in promoting cooperation programmes between businesses in Central Viet Nam and Chinese partners.

In 2025, Da Nang will continue to coordinate to implement a number of meaningful cooperation and exchange programmes, contributing to enriching activities in the "Year of Viet Nam - China Humanistic Exchange", he noted.

For her part, Chinese Consul General in Da Nang Dong Bi You shared that over the past 75 years, the Viet Nam - China relationship has maintained its original aspirations and developed sustainably. She hoped that the exchanges and cooperation between the two countries would achieve greater results.

The Chinese Consulate General in Da Nang is willing to accompany and coordinate with the provinces and cities in Central Viet Nam, including Da Nang, to foster cooperation programmes with Chinese partners as well as promote the building of a community of shared future between China and Viet Nam.
