Da Nang, India strengthen cooperation in hi-tech and free trade zones

He also informed about the city's socio-economic development situation in 2024. In particular, the local tourism sector recorded good growth when there were 217,000 Indian tourists travelling to Da Nang.
The city leader also briefed his Indian guest on the recently-approved Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15 dated June 26, 2024 on the organisation of urban government and piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of the city, with a focus on the establishment of a free trade zone; innovation, science and technology; and semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI). In addition, the city is allowed to form the Da Nang International Financial Centre.
Secretary Quang asked for a helping hand from Indian diplomat to introduce more potential investors from his country to visit and seek investment and cooperation opportunities in hi-tech, AI and free trade zone development in the city; as well as connect localities with similarities and strengths in the fields of information technology and tourism with Da Nang to sign cooepration agreements in the coming time.

At the same time, he expressed his hope that Mr. Sandeep Arya will act as a bridge to foster the opening of direct flights from major cities in India to Da Nang, thereby contributing to attracting more Indian tourists to Da Nang and enhancing promotion and cooperation in this field.
For his part, Indian ambassador Sandeep Arya expressed his impression of Da Nang’s rapid growth. He voiced his hope that with the new mechanisms and policies issued by the Central Government, Da Nang will make a breakthrough in development in the time to come and wished the city to continue to achieve great socio-economic achievements in 2025.
The Indian guest said that the HCL Technologies Group, a global technology group from India, is looking to expand in the Da Nang market and Adani Group is also exploring investment cooperation prospects in the Lien Chieu seaport and free trade zone projects in the city.
Ambassador Sandeep Arya hoped that the city’s leaders will create favourable conditions for Indian investors and corporations to explore investment and cooperation opportunities in Da Nang. He also affirmed his readiness to support and connect the central seaside city with Indian financial centres in order to exchange experiences in operating the soon-to-be-developed Da Nang International Financial Centre.
