Da Nang leaders receive leaders of countries during their Da Nang working trips
Within the framework of the City Partnership Forum-Da Nang 2025, Meet Da Nang 2025, Da Nang leaders hosted receptions for many international delegations during their working trips in this coastal hub.

Chairing a working session with leaders of the four provinces of Champasak, Savannakhet, SeKong, Salvane (Laos) who visited and worked in Da Nang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh said that in 2024, Da Nang and the provinces of South Central Laos will continue to maintain and strengthen cooperation in many fields through delegation exchanges at all levels, attending each other's investment, trade, and tourism promotion events.
The city granted scholarships to 111 international students from Attapeu, Sekong, Salavane, Champasak, Savannakhet and Bolikhamxay provinces for studying undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programmes at the Da Nang University (UD) in the 2024 - 2025 academic year; sent 10 teachers to teach the Vietnamese language at the Vietnamese Language Centres of 5 provinces in South Central Laos; received one officer from the Attapeu Department of Foreign Affairs for a 6-month internship at the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs; organized a short-term exchange and learning programme for a delegation of officers from the Savannakhet Department of Agriculture and Forestry.

Currently, the city’s specialised agencies are carrying out procedures to select contractors to implement the project of upgrading the Friendship Primary School of the Vietnamese Association in Salavane Province to the Friendship Primary and Secondary School, and at the same time, preparing for investment in projects according to the cooperation programme between Da Nang and the provinces of Savannakhet, Sekong and Champasak.
In the coming time, the city will continue to implement the scholarship programme for the 2025 - 2026 school year, with a focus on granting scholarships to 136 students from the provinces of Attapeu, Sekong, Salavane, Champasak and Savannakhet; sending 10 teachers to teach Vietnamese in 5 provinces of Southern and Central Laos; organising the reception of the delegation of officials from the Attapeu Department of Agriculture and Forestry and the delegation of officials from the Savannakhet Department of Education and Sports for training and experience exchanges in the city.
The leaders of Lao localities thanked the Da Nang leaders for their warm welcome. In recent times, Da Nang has supported Lao localities in many fields, especially in human resource training, granting scholarships to Lao students, investing in facilities, infrastructure, and building schools in Lao localities.
They also hoped that Da Nang would continue to pay attention and support in many fields, while creating conditions for Da Nang businesses and the South Central provinces of Laos to boost delegation exchanges and explore cooperation opportunities, share experiences in the fields of digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI) and cooperation in developing the tourism and service industries.
On the same day, the leaders of the Da Nang People's Council and the Da Nang People's Committee hosted receptions for international guests who were delegations attending the City Partnership Forum-Da Nang 2025.
Receiving the Acting Mayor of Genoa City (Italy) Pietro Piciocchi who visited and worked in Da Nang, Da Nang People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh informed the delegation about the city’s socio-economic situation.

Chairman Chinh hoped that the two cities would promote cooperation in the fields of seaport economy, transportation, high technology, tourism, marine economy, and environment. At the same time, the duo should strengthen coordination in organising activities to boost cultural exchanges between the two cities in particular and the two countries as a whole.
Mr Pietro Piciocchi thanked the city leaders for their warm welcome and expressed his wish to cooperate with Da Nang in transporting import and export goods and introducing Vietnamese culture and people, and famous tourist attractions of Da Nang to the Italian people.
On the same day, during his meeting with Mayor of Aktau City (Kazakhstan) Baipakov Abilkair Zhanaevich, People’s Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh said that at the City Partnership Forum-Da Nang 2025, Da Nang and Aktau signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a cooperative relationship between the two localities.

The Da Nang government chief hoped Mr. Baipakov Abilkair Zhanaevich to assign Aktau business delegations to Da Nang to learn about investment environment and cooperation opportunities here in the fields of tourism, seaports, high-tech agriculture and renewable energy, as well as promote the opening of air routes and enhance cultural exchanges and introductions between the two localities, and the two countries in general.
Mr. Baipakov Abilkair Zhanaevich said he was very interested in the Da Nang investment environment, expressing his belief that the two localities would enhance connections and promote cooperative ties in various fields.
On the same day, hosting a reception for Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Viet Nam Helga Margarete Barth during her Da Nang visit, Chairman of the Da Nang People's Council Ngo Xuan Thang brief his VIP guest of the city’s socio-economic development highlights in 2024 and its development orientations as well. He hoped that Ambassador Helga Margarete Barth will promote her role as a bridge to promote investment cooperation between Da Nang and German localities.

Ms. Helga Margarete Barth expressed her impression of the development of Da Nang and highly appreciated the friendly relationship between Viet Nam and the Federal Republic of Germany in general, and between Da Nang and German localities in particular, believing that this would serve as a premise for the two sides to continue promoting cooperative ties in many aspects in the coming time.
Welcoming the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia to Viet Nam Dato' Tan Yang Thai, Da Nang People's Council Chairman Ngo Xuan Thang hoped that the Malaysian Ambassador would support the Malaysian State of Penang Province to establish a cooperative relationship with Da Nang and support the promotion of the Da Nang image to Malaysian people, help connect travel companies of both sides to increase the number of Malaysian visitors to Da Nang and vice versa as well as enhance cultural, educational and people-to-people cooperation programmes between Da Nang and Malaysian localities and organisations.
The Malaysian Ambassador to Viet Nam Dato' Tan Yang Thai thanked the Da Nang leaders for their warm welcome and affirmed that he would make efforts to connect Malaysian experts and partners in the fields that Da Nang is focusing on developing in order to cooperate with this Vietnamese city in building a financial centre.

The Ambassador hoped to promote Penang to establish a cooperative relationship with Da Nang, and help attract more Malaysian tourists to Da Nang for the sake of the city’s tourism development.
On the same day, during her meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Philippines to Viet Nam Meynardo LB. Montealegre, Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Anh Thi said that 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of the strategic partnership between Viet Nam and the Philippines.
Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Anh Thi hoped that the Ambassador would act as a bridge to promote the friendly and cooperative relationships between Da Nang and the localities of the Philippines, especially bilateral cooperation in economics, education, trade, investment, tourism and people-to-people exchange.

Mr. Meynardo LB. Montealegre expressed his impression on the potential and advantages of Da Nang, and said that he would introduce localities in the Philippines that share similarities with Da Nang so as to boost bilateral cooperation in in investment, trade, tourism and cultural and artistic exchanges.
On the same day, during her meeting with the delegation of Governor of Mukdahan Province (Thailand) Vorayan Bunarat, Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Anh Thi said that the East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC) route from Khon Kaen (Thailand) through Laos to Da Nang port is very convenient. Da Nang periodically organises the EWEC investment, trade and tourism fair in August every year.
Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Anh Thi hoped that the Governor of Mukdahan Province would encourage Thai businesses to explore the Da Nang market, participate in fairs and exhibitions to enhance investment, trade and tourism cooperation, jointly exploit EWEC effectively, and promote Thai and Vietnamese airlines to open more direct flights from Da Nang to Khon Kaen (in addition to the current Da Nang - Bangkok route) as a way to enhance exchanges and effectively speed up bilateral investment, trade and tourism cooperation.

Governor of Mukdahan Province (Thailand) Vorayan Bunarat highly appreciated the city’s efforts in organising programmes to effectively tap EWEC potential, affirming that he would act as a bridge for Thai businesses and localities to explore cooperation and investment opportunities in Da Nang.
Also on the same day, welcoming Ms. Caroline Nyamayemombe, UN Women Country Representative in Viet Nam, Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Anh Thi thanked Ms. Caroline Nyamayemombe and UN Women in Vietnam for their support in implementing the project of the Initiative to Build Da Nang into a Safe and Non-Violent City for Women and Children.

Ms. Caroline Nyamayemombe highly appreciated the efforts made by the Da Nang leaders in building Da Nang into a safe and non-violent city for women and children, affirming that UN Women would continue to support Da Nang in building and developing programmes and projects to prevent and respond to violence and abuse against women and children.
On the same day, Standing Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Ho Ky Minh met with Mr. Watanabe Yoshikuni, the Mayor of Kisarazu City (Chiba Prefecture, Japan). Standing Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh affirmed that Japan is one of the important partners of Da Nang.
In particular, Kisarazu and Da Nang have coordinated to organize many seminars to promote investment, tourism, cultural exchanges, contributing to enhancing understanding and cooperation between the two cities. Da Nang has welcomed investors from Kisarazu in particular, and Japan in general.
Mikazuki Group's successful investment in Da Nang is a testament. Right from the beginning of 2025, the Da Nang leadership delegation worked with Mikazuki Group to remove obstacles and wished to strengthen cooperation with Kisarazu City, especially in developing high-quality human resources.

Mr. Watanabe Yoshikuni, the Mayor of Kisarazu City, informed that in a recent meeting between him and the Japan Business Association in Da Nang (JCCID), the association’s representative expressed keen interest in investing in Da Nang. Therefore, Kisarazu City is ready to serve as a bridge, accompanying Da Nang in particular, and Viet Nam in general, to strengthen economic cooperation activities, promote diplomacy and culture.
On the same day, Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman Tran Chi Cuong hosted a reception for four Chinese localities: Shandong Province, Jiangsu Province, Xiamen City (Fujian Province) and Shaanxi Province.
As reported by Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman Tran Chi Cuong, in 2024, the number of tourists to Da Nang reached 10.3 million, an increase of 39% compared to 2023, of whom 4.2 million were international visitors, up by 2.1 times compared to the same period in 2023. The city attracted US$213.4 million worth of foreign direct investment (FDI), a rise of 17.9% compared to the same period in 2023 and attracted VND70.9 trillion worth of domestic investment capital.

When it comes to development cooperation, Da Nang always attaches importance to cooperative relationships with Chinese localities. In 2024, the number of mainland Chinese visitors accounted for about 6.4% of the total number of international visitors to Da Nang.
About 30 Da Nang enterprises have established regular trade relations with the Chinese market. The import-export turnover of goods between Da Nang and China averages nearly US$ 300 million /year.
2025 is the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and China. Da Nang plans to organise many exchange and cooperation activities with Chinese localities and partners, with a focus on enhancing people-to-people and cultural exchanges, promoting tourism with the Chinese market, speeding up media cooperation.

At the meeting, representatives of the cited Chinese localities expressed their desire to strengthen cooperation with Da Nang in the fields that the two sides have discussed many times, as well as create meeting channels, connect businesses in the fields of investment, import-export, tourism, enhance cultural exchange, sports, education, and health.
