Da Nang officials visit medical units on Vietnamese Physicians' Day

Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang, on Monday, paid a visit to the municipal Centre for Disease Control on the 70th anniversary of the Vietnamese Physicians' Day (February 27).

On behalf of the city's leaders, Secretary Quang sent his best wishes to all leaders, doctors, officers and staff of the centre. At the same time, he acknowledged and commended the results, achievements and contributions of the centre over the past time.

He also expressed his hope that the Centre for Disease Control will continue to uphold its achievements, well fulfill its assigned tasks and ensure the health of the people.

He also asked the municipal Department of Health to create connections and coordination between the Center for Disease Control and hospitals, and district-level medical centres citywide to promote the existing potential and internal strength of the health sector.

Heed should be on boosting digital transformation, building a database on disease prevention and control and applying artificial intelligence to professional work in 2025 and the following years, he stated.

Mr. Quang urged the Center for Disease Control to soon develop a separate project on building a level 3 biosafety laboratory and submit it to the city for consideration in June 2025.

According to Dr. Nguyen Dai Vinh, Director of the Centre for Disease Control, the unit effectively controlled and prevented all types of epidemics in 2024. Also, a draft project on upgrading the centre to ensure sufficient capacity to forecast, monitor, detect early, and promptly and effectively control epidemics, and risk factors affecting public health in the 2024-2030 period was completed.

At the same time, the centre organised training courses and issued certificates of continuous training for medical staff, population - health - children collaborators, village health workers, and employees of enterprises. This initiative significantly supported the local health sector in taking care of community health, preventing epidemics and providing primary health care for workers in enterprises, units and the community.
