JICA continues to cooperate with Da Nang in many fields

During her reception on Monday for Mr. Sugano Yuichi, Chief Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Viet Nam, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi highly appreciated the JICA funded projects in the city. The majority of  the projects involve urban transport, environment, energy, human resource training, and education.

Vice Chairman Thi briefed her guest on the special mechanisms and policies for the development of the central coastal city. She also requested JICA to continue to support Da Nang in high-quality human resource training, environmental protection, climate change adaption, semiconductors and digital transformation.

For his part, Mr. Sugano Yuichi expressed his strong appreciation for the fine cooperation with Da Nang in recent years. He affirmed that in the future, JICA will continue to enhance collaboration with Da Nang in several areas, including climate change initiatives, human resource development, high-tech industry, and semiconductor technology.

JICA is an agency of the Japanese government. Recently, it has sponsored several programmes and projects in Da Nang, including sending Japanese volunteers to work with various agencies and organizations in the city under the Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers dispatch programme, funding a project to encourage waste separation at source and promote recycling (3R) activities, and developing a project to enhance elderly care at the Ngu Hanh Son District Medical Centre.
