A get-together for officers and soldiers of Front 44 Quang Da was held in Da Nang on Wednesday to mark the 50^th anniversary of the liberation of the city (March 29, 1975 - March 29, 2025).

Speaking at the event, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang informed that Front 44 Quang Da was the main force on the Quang Nam - Da Nang battlefield during the fierce and difficult period of the resistance war against the US. However, with courageous and resilient spirit, officers and soldiers of Front 44 Quang Da overcame all difficulties and hardships, and gained many resounding achievements, contributing significantly to the liberation of Da Nang, the liberation of the south, and national reunification.

After the country's reunification, the veterans of the Front 44 Quang Da continued to promote the tradition of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", and actively participated in building their homeland and country, thereby contributing to the overall development of Da Nang and the country as a whole.

Secretary Quang expressed his gratitude and deep appreciation for those who sacrificed their lives in the fight for independence, freedom and peace of the nation and the happiness of the people.

According to Mr. Quang, 50 years have passed, from a city that suffered much devastation from war, Da Nang has risen strongly, and become a dynamically developing urban area of ​​the whole country.

Following the footsteps of previous generations, the Party Committee, government and people of the city have always been united, and promoted the spirit of self-reliance with high responsibility and great efforts to achieve many comprehensive results in all fields.

The city Party chief Quang emphasised that today's generation has the responsibility to continue writing the heroic history, upholding the revolutionary spirit of previous generations, and promoting the spirit of solidarity, innovation and creativity to build Da Nang into a modern, smart city with its own identity, a large urban area of ​​the country reaching international standards.

He voiced his hope that the veterans of Front 44 Quang Da will continue to promote the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", as well as accompany, support and contribute their intelligence to the construction and development of the city.

On the occasion, 1,200 cadres and soldiers, representing nearly 6,000 war veterans of Front 44 Quang Da living all over the country, who are direct historical witnesses to the liberation of Da Nang, reviewed the heroic tradition of Front 44 Quang Da.
