She also sent special thanks to Mr. Benjamin Wilson, Founder and Chairman of COV, who has always worked tirelessly for Vietnamese orphans, including those in Da Nang.
Vice Chairwoman Thi highly lauded the meaningfulness and the humanity of COV-implemented programmes and projects. He remarked these projects have brought a better future for disabled children and children in difficult circumstances, as well as help their families reduce the burden in life. This has, thereby, contributed to joining hands with the city in supporting the care and protection of children, single women, and those in difficult circumstances in the city.
She stated that the need for child care and education, especially for children in difficult circumstances in the city, is still quite high. The municipal government has issued and implemented many programmes and plans related to children to ensure all children's rights and their comprehensive development, especially those in difficult circumstances.
She, therefore, voiced her hope that Mr. Benjamin Wilson and COV will continue to pay attention and consider supporting appropriate projects to improve the quality of care for children in difficult circumstances, especially those living in social protection facilities and issues related to climate change in the city.
In reply, Mr. Benjamin Wilson said that COV has recently conducted a survey of the current situation and needs of social protection facilities citywide to develop a fundraising plan to support the improvement of infrastructure and specialized equipment for these facilities.
At the same time, he hoped that the city leaders will continue to create the most favourable conditions for COV to effectively implement programmes and projects to care for and protect disadvantaged and unfortunate children in the city, contributing to bringing good values to the community.
