Da Nang calls for Japanese investors to invest in key projects

During his reception on Wednesday for Japanese Ambassador to Viet Nam Ito Naoki, Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang provided an overview of the city’s socio-economic development situation in the first quarter of 2025. He also briefed his Japanese guest on some outstanding results at the City Partnership Forum - Da Nang 2025 (Meet Da Nang 2025).

The city Party chief also informed that the city recently organised the solemn ceremony to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Da Nang Party Organisation (March 28, 1930 - March 28, 2025) and the 50th anniversary of the city's liberation (March 29, 1975 - March 29, 2025).

He highly appreciated the effective investment and operation of Japanese enterprises in Da Nang. He expressed gratitude for Japan's support in the fields of education - training and health care for Da Nang over the past time.

Mr. Quang took the opportunity to ask for help from Ambassador Ito Naoki to call on more Japanese enterprises and investors to invest in the urban railway project connecting Da Nang with Quang Nam Province, the infrastructure development project for the Da Nang Free Trade Zone, the sea reclamation project, the Hoa Ninh Industrial Park, the Da Nang regional financial centre, and some key areas such as hi-tech, information technology, tourism, and education - training.

The municipal government was committed to creating a favourable investment environment for Japanese enterprises, he added.

On the occasion, Secretary Quang invited the Japanese Ambassador to attend the Viet Nam - Japan Festival slated to take place in the city July 2025. This is a special cultural exchange opportunity between the two countries, contributing to enhancing understanding and strengthening the friendly relationship between Viet Nam and Japan in general and Da Nang with Japanese localities in particular.

For his part, Japanese Ambassador to Viet Nam Ito Naoki congratulated the city on the successful organisation of the ceremony in celebration of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Da Nang Party Organisation and the 50th anniversary of the city's liberation.

The Japanese diplomat stated that Japanese investors and businesses showed their keen interest in expanding their investment activities in Da Nang in such aspects as hi-tech, information technology, infrastructure development, and tourism.

On April 10, the Embassy of Japan in Viet Nam will hold a ceremony to hand over the project to build classrooms for Phu Tuc School and Hoa Phu Kindergarten in Hoa Vang District, and the project to purchase patient monitoring devices for the Da Nang Hospital, Mr. Ito Naoki said.

He voiced his hope that the two sides will continue to cooperate closely in the field of education and training, especially in training high-quality human resources in semiconductors. He suggested that the city leaders create favourable conditions for Japanese businesses to invest and operate effectively in Da Nang.

Ambassador Ito Naoki expressed his belief that the relationship between Viet Nam and Japan in general, and between Da Nang and Japanese localities in particular, will continue to be enhanced in the coming time.
