The Standing Board of the Da Nang Party Committee held a conference on Thursday to announce the merger of the Da Nang Newspaper and the Da Nang Radio - Television Station.

Accordingly, the Da Nang Newspaper and the Da Nang Radio and Television Station are merged into the Da Nang Newspaper and Radio - Television Station. The newly-merged Da Nang Newspaper and Radio - Television Station serves as a public service unit under the municipal Party Committee.

Under the decision, Mr. Doan Xuan Hieu, a member of the Da Nang Party Committee and Director of the Da Nang Radio - Television Station was appointed to Editor-in-Chief of the Da Nang Newspaper and Radio - Television Station for a term of 5 years.

Deputy Editors-in-Chief of the Da Nang Newspaper and Radio - Television Station are Mr. Hua Van Hai, Mrs. Pham Thi My Hanh, Mr. Hong Quang Nam, Mrs. Tran Thi Thu Thuy, Mr. Phan Van Tan and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Vu.

Speaking at the conference, Standing Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh requested the leaders of the newly-merged Da Nang Newspaper and Radio - Television Station to urgently implement procedures on rearranging the organisational structure, cadres, civil servants, and employees under the authority of the unit; as well as quickly stabilise the organization, assign tasks and develop working regulations and rules.

He also urged the leadership team to handle tasks related to records, documents, finance, public assets, and offices, and ensure equipment and means of work for cadres, civil servants, and employees.

In his speech to receive the assignment, Editor-in-Chief of the Da Nang Newspaper and Radio - Television Station Doan Xuan Hieu expressed his joy and honour at the official merger.

He stated that leaders, editors, reporters and employees of the Da Nang Newspaper and Radio - Television Station will unite and reach consensus to change their thinking, awareness and determination to act in rearranging and reorganizing the apparatus to avoid the overlapping of functions and tasks.

Their efforts will focus on improving professionalism, political capacity, professional ethics, knowledge and IT application skills to well fulfil the political tasks of the city and meet the needs of information and entertainment of locals and visitors.
