A delegation of officials from Da Nang, led by Permanent Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh, on Saturday, visited the Association of Vietnamese people in  Attapeu Province at the Laos -Viet Nam Friendship Junior High School as part of their ongoing working trip to south central provinces of Laos.

After listening to a report about the performance of the Association of Vietnamese people in Attapeu Province by Chairman Nguyen Van Binh, Deputy Secretary Vinh expressed his joy at the stable lives of overseas Vietnamese in Laos.

He voiced his hope that overseas Vietnamese will continue to promote the tradition of solidarity of the Vietnamese people, help each other in life, develop the economy together, and always look towards their homeland and country.

Informing about some of the city’s outstanding socio-economic achievements over the past time, Mr. Vinh emphasised that the Party and State of Viet Nam always considered overseas Vietnamese as an inseparable part of the nation. The people in Laos in general, and in Attapeu Province in particular, need to continue to promote solidarity, and act as an important bridge to contribute to strengthening the special and great solidarity and friendship between the two Parties, two States and peoples of the two countries.

Da Nang always paid special attention to implementing support programmes for the Associations of Vietnamese people in south central provinces of Laos, including Attapeu Province. Every year, the city grants two scholarships for the Association's children to study at the University of Da Nang, he added.

On the occasion of Bunpimay 2025, the city leaders supported the Association of Vietnamese People in Attapeu Province with VND 50 million to celebrate a happy and joyful Tet. Also, a donation of VND 120 million was given to the Association of Vietnamese People in Attapeu Province to support salary payments for Vietnamese language teachers at the Laos – Viet Nam Friendship Junior High School, whilst gifts went to 2 Vietnamese language teachers there.
