In response to the 2013 Giving Strength in the Exam Season programme, a large number of volunteers in Da Nang are making themselves available at 96 schools and stations to offer assistance to exam candidates and their relatives coming from localities nationwide to take university entrance exams in the city.  The volunteers have been actively involved in providing information about the exam times and places, lodgings, and giving free food and drinks.

Most notably, they are on around-the-clock duty at the coach station, the railway station, the University of Economics, and the headquarters of the city's Youth Union.

To help candidates travel around easily, each volunteer team includes up to 7 members who work as motorbike taxi drivers, and they are present at some local universities to transport candidates and their relatives free of charge to cheap lodgings, or eating and drinking areas.  The universities are the College of Information Technology, the University of Economics, the University of Technology, and the Duy Tan University.

In addition, transportation fares around the city are being displayed at local bus and railway stations.  In detail, bus tickets are priced at between 5,000 VND and 8,000 VND per ticket, whilst the prices for motorbike taxis range between 20,000 VND and 60,000 VND per person.

Many local residents have also registered to offer free accommodation for candidates at the Giving Strength in the Exam Season locations.  In particular, the Hoang Tra Motel, 56 Nguyen Duc Trung Street, has pledged to provide 3 free double rooms which can accommodate a total of 30 people.

As its contribution to sharing the strenuous work, and to uplift the spirits of the local volunteers, each assistance location has been granted 200,000 VND from the city’s Youth Union and 150,000 VND from some local authorities.  In addition, each volunteer will receive an allowance of 25,000 VND per day from the Youth Union of the University of Da Nang.
